Balanced Body is the world’s largest manufacturer of Pilates equipment. I designed their new “Pilates Chair” and refreshed a product that has shown minor improvement since the 1920s. I also managed a team of three during this ambitious six-week sprint to improve the Pilates Chair fundamentals and expand our client's market presence.

The outcome was a beautiful product with a proprietary tensioning mechanism. By replacing the bare linear springs with torsion springs, the design will improve the exercise experience with smoother motion (with no risk of getting pinched) in a category-defining form factor.
